When making it for my kids, I use fewer spices, but for adults, I make a restaurant-style sweet corn recipe. I use sweet corn, red chilli powder, corn flour, rice flour, salt, chat Marsala, chopped onion, black pepper, parsley, and some lemon juice. After mixing everything well, I fry the corn, and it turns out crispy and delicious.

The cooking process is very easy and requires just a few ingredients, which is why sweet corn is my favourite spicy snack. After making it, it looks great and tastes delicious, especially when using fresh sweet corn. Adding lemon juice gives it a fantastic flavour. Homemade food is the best for everyone.

Ingredients For Crispy Sweet Corn Recipe

Here are the simple ingredients for making crispy sweet corn. Today, I am making the restaurant-style crispy sweet corn recipe at home. Below are the ingredients:

  1. Sweet corn: Use fresh sweet corn, but you can also use frozen corn. Fresh corn is best. Take 2 cups of sweet corn.
  2. Salt and black pepper: To taste.
  3. Onion: 2 tablespoons of chopped spring onion. I like to add this as a garnish.
  4. Red chilli powder: 1 teaspoon for a spicy flavour.
  5. Chat Marsala: This adds great flavour. Use 1 tablespoon or to taste.
  6. Rice and corn flour: Use 2 tablespoons of each.
  7. Coriander leaves: 1/2 tablespoon of fresh coriander leaves for garnish.
  8. Oil: Enough oil for frying.

How To Make Crispy Sweet Corn Recipe

  1. Sweet Corn: Start by taking 2 corn cobs, which equals about 2 cups of kernels. Break the cobs and pick the kernels with your hands. Clean the kernels with water and soak them.
  2. Boiled Corn: Take a medium pot, add 4 cups of water, some salt, and heat until boiling. Add the corn and boil for 5 minutes or until the corn is tender. Drain the water and let the corn cool.
  3. Coat the Corn: Once the corn has cooled, mix it with rice flour and corn flour in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper, and coat the corn well. If needed, add some water to help the coating stick.
  4. Fry the Crispy Sweet Corn: Heat oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, carefully add the corn using a large spoon. Cover the pan immediately, as the corn may burst when it hits the hot oil. Fry on medium to low heat until the corn turns golden. Remove and drain on a plate.
  5. Mix Spices and Flavour: After frying, sprinkle red chilli powder, chat Marsala, and mix well. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1/2 tablespoon of coriander leaves, spring onion, and optional chopped red or green chillies.
  6. Serve: Transfer to a serving plate, garnish with onion rings and coriander leaves, and serve immediately. Hot crispy corn tastes best!

Tips And Tricks For Crispy Sweet Corn Recipe

  1. Always use fresh corn cobs, but frozen corn can be used if fresh is unavailable.
  2. You can use all-purpose flour, but corn and rice flour give a better coating.
  3. If making for kids, avoid red chilli powder and chopped chillies. Only black pepper is enough.
  4. You can also add chopped garlic, onion, ginger, and use chilli-tomato sauce or soy sauce for a different flavour.
  5. For the best crispy result, ensure the corn is well-coated with dry flour.
  6. You can store the coated corn in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
