How to Make Crispy Baked Potato Wedges Recipe

Crispy potato wedges are easy and simple to make. I use three methods to make crispy potato wedges. Let’s go and follow my step-by-step instructions. First, I will show you how to bake potato wedges, so follow my steps.

  1. Cut the potato wedges: First, take the potatoes, clean them well, and slice each potato in half. Slice each half into 4 to 5 wedges, depending on the size of the potatoes.
  2. Soak the potatoes: After cutting, take a large bowl, add cold water, and add 1 cup of ice cubes. Let the potatoes rest for 20 minutes. Then, drain the potatoes and dry them with a paper towel or kitchen towel. I prefer to air-dry mine.
  3. Season: Take a large plate and add flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, red chilli powder, and garlic powder, then mix all the spices. Add more salt if needed.
  4. Coat the potatoes: Take a bowl, add the soaked potatoes, and coat them well with olive oil. Then sprinkle the prepared seasoning and coat all the potatoes well. If the seasoning is too dry, sprinkle a bit of oil and water, then mix well.

  1. Bake: Take a baking sheet, arrange the wedges in a single layer, and place the cut side down. Bake at 400°F for 20 to 30 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. The baking time will depend on the size of the potatoes. When they’re ready, take them out of the oven and serve.

Air Fryer

  1. Air fry: Once the potatoes are seasoned, place them in the air fryer basket and spread them out. Air fry at 200°F to 400°F for about 5 minutes, then shake them. Fry again for 10 minutes, shake once more, and repeat for another 9 minutes until crispy. Once done, take the potato wedges out of the fryer and serve.

Deep Frying Potato

Deep Frying Potato Wedges

  1. Deep fry: For deep frying, take a pot and boil water. Once the water is boiling, add salt and the potatoes. Boil until the potatoes are 50% cooked (about 2 minutes, depending on the size of the wedges). Remove the potatoes and cool them in cold water. Once cool, add seasoning, flour, and water, and mix until combined. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more water and mix well. Heat oil in a frying pan, and when the oil is fully heated, fry the wedges until crispy and golden brown. Fry on medium to high heat until golden. Once done, remove from the pan, place on a plate, and serve warm.
  2. Serving Time: Finally, it’s time to serve. Serve the crispy potato wedges with tomato sauce, chilli sauce, plain yogurt, or garlic yogurt dip. You can also top the hot wedges with cheese or any spices of your choice. I like to serve them with tomato sauce and garlic yogurt. It’s so yummy and tasty!
