My simple cook steak and frites with homemade garlic herb butter sauce and homemade French fries are perfectly good.

I love steak and frites because it is healthy and delicious, but it is a simple dish. There are different ways to cook it, but steak and frites, cooked by following my rules, is an easy way to cook. Steak is always a delicious food when we use rib eye steak, and cooking it gives the flavour such a nice taste. The perfect combination of rib eye steak, fries, and homemade garlic herb butter sauce is mouthwatering fresh.
The French fries recipe is so easy. It is easy because it only takes 30 to 40 minutes to cook.
What Type Of Meat For Steak And Frites?
Originally, it is a difficult question. But what do you want? There are varieties of steak. You can use flavourful steak. That’s what I mean.
But you can use flank steak, skirt steak, strip steak, hanger steak, or rib eye steak. That’s your choice.
I suggest you use rib eye steak because its flavour is so nice, and it cooks in a very short time. I will be cooking rib eye steak and making French fries, served with homemade herb butter sauce. But you can use garlic aioli, tomato sauce, or any other sauce and enjoy eating.

Ingredients For Steak And Frites
- Steak: Of course, this recipe uses full fresh meat. You can use any type of beef such as rib eye steaks, skirt steaks, hanger steaks, as you choose.
- Potatoes: Use 2 to 4 potatoes. You can use russet potatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, or other varieties. To make perfect French fries, use the right potatoes.
- Garlic: 2 to 4 cloves of garlic for herb butter sauce.
- Salt and black pepper: Use salt and black pepper to taste.
- Butter: Use 10 g of unsalted butter, softened.
- Olive oil: Use 1 tablespoon of olive oil for frying.
- Parsley: Use 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley leaves.

Instructions for Cooking Steak and Frites
- First, make the herb butter. Take a medium bowl and add 1/2 cup of butter and mix well until smooth. Then add grated garlic, minced parsley, some salt, and black pepper, and mix well. Keep it cool on the side. Rest for 10 minutes while preparing the steak and French fries.
- Prepare the steak. Take 2 pieces of rib eye steak, cut into medium-size or 1/2 inch thick pieces, and clean with water. Dry the steak with a kitchen paper towel, add salt and black pepper, and mix well.
- Heat a skillet or frying pan. When the pan is smoky, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Wait for the heat and then add one steak, followed by the other. Fry for 10 minutes, adjusting the heat to medium-high. Fry one side of the steak, then flip and fry the other side the same way. Add minced garlic and a little butter and fry the garlic. When the steak reaches 300°F and is fluffy and cooked, remove it from the pan. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing into cubes or however you prefer.
- Next, fry the French fries. Take the potatoes and wash them well. Slice them into 1/2 inch pieces. Soak the potatoes in ice water for 45 minutes to 1 hour to make them crispy.
After soaking, dry the potatoes with a kitchen paper towel. Heat a frying pan with oil. When the oil is hot, add the sliced potatoes and fry for 5 minutes on one side, then flip and fry the other side for another 5 minutes. When the potatoes turn golden brown and crispy, remove them from the oil. Serve on a plate, adding salt before serving.
- Serve the sliced steak topped with garlic herb butter sauce alongside the French fries.
If you want, you can use other sauces, but steak and frites are best served hot and crispy.

- Cut the potatoes into uniform sizes for even frying.
- You can use any steak with this recipe. It’s your choice, but cut the steak into thin slices.
- If you want, you can double-fry the French fries.
- Let the steak cool before slicing so the juices don’t run out.
- You can store the steak for 4 days in an airtight container and reheat it in the oven or microwave for 5 minutes.
