HOW TO MAKE CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN RECIPE
Fried chicken is one of the most popular foods. Everyone loves fried chicken. I make fried chicken, and it’s very simple. Anyone can make it. I have tried different styles, and this fried chicken is very simple, crispy, and juicy. It is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It is super delicious food.
Fried chicken marination is very important. To make perfectly fried chicken, follow these rules. So it’s crispy, flavourful, and juicy.
Fried chicken is cooked at high temperatures. But it’s cooked on medium to high heat. So, you should cook it until you achieve that crispy texture.

To make perfect fried chicken, gather the following ingredients. Add the flour and cornstarch, which, when mixed together, make the flour coating crispy and give it that golden brown colour.
Some people use water and egg, but I use buttermilk and other spices. You should try it. I also use milk for the lactic acid.
Marinating the chicken is very important. Marinate the chicken overnight in buttermilk to make it nice, tender, and juicy.
Fried chicken is the best option when the marinade is done overnight. Then coat the chicken with flour and fry. It is a simple process.

INGREDIENTS FOR FRIED CHICKEN:
- Chicken (you can use chicken legs, wings, breasts, or bone-in pieces) – 6 pieces
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups all-purpose flour for coating
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger powder
- Vegetable oil
- Red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon hot tomato sauce
INGREDIENTS DETAILS
- Chicken cut up: You can cut the chicken as you like, using breasts, thighs, wings, or legs. Carefully cut the chicken with a knife.
- Chicken mix: Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger powder, and mix well. You can use other spices as well.
- Whole milk: I use whole milk, but you can use simple water.
- Hot sauce: I use hot tomato sauce, but it is optional. It adds a nice little kick.
- Cornstarch: It is used for crispy skin, so don’t skip it.
- Vegetable oil: I use vegetable oil for frying. It is perfect, but you can use other oils if you prefer.
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large bowl, add the chicken and salt, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger powder, black pepper, red chili powder, hot tomato sauce, and mix well until combined. Then add the whole milk, mix well, and let it rest for 2-3 hours or overnight for the best results.
- In a separate large bowl, add all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, ginger powder, black pepper, red chili powder, garlic powder, and whisk until combined.
- Take 1 cup of the flour mixture and, in a separate bowl, mix with cold water until it forms a smooth batter.
- Take one piece of the chicken, coat it in the flour mixture, and ensure it’s well-coated. These craggly bits will add extra texture to the chicken. Then dip the coated chicken in the wet batter, letting any excess drip off, and then coat it again in the flour mixture. Place the coated chicken on a plate and repeat the process for all the chicken pieces.
- In a large frying pan, heat oil over high heat. Carefully add the chicken pieces to the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Be careful not to overcook the chicken. Once the chicken is golden brown, it’s done. You can check if the chicken is cooked by ensuring its internal temperature reaches 165°F. The cooking time depends on the size of the chicken pieces. Dark meat takes 10-15 minutes, while white meat takes 6-12 minutes.
- Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to kitchen paper to drain excess oil. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the fried chicken on a plate with tomato sauce. You can use different sauces, along with French fries, and enjoy!
HOW TO STORE
Fried chicken can be stored in two ways. After coating the chicken, store it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Alternatively, after coating, place the chicken in a zip lock bag and freeze it for up to 3 months.
If you need to reheat the frozen fried chicken, let it thaw and bake it in the oven or use an air fryer.
